MCM Amoeba Coffee Table
It all begins with a vision, but wood has so much character that you have to allow it to speak for itself and this piece had so much it wanted to say. This unique Mid-Century Modern styled Ameoba Coffee Table was born from a single slab of Black Cherry, and the contours of the undulating wood grain seemed reminiscent of shifting sand. It reminded me of my travels through the American southwest among desert cliffs, canyons and formations of weathered rock eroded by wind and water. Accentuating smooth clean lines to achieve simplicity and elegance was paramount.
